ต้อนรับ Chef Arnold Myint

เมื่อวันที่ 11 มิถุนายน 2567 นางฆฏนาวดี กัลยาณมิตร กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครชิคาโก และ นางสุปรารถนา กมลเวชช ผู้อำนวยการ สำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ ณ นครชิคาโก ให้การต้อนรับ Chef Arnold Myint เชฟผู้มีชื่อเสียง (Celebrity Chef) ชาวไทยที่เกิดและเติบโตในสหรัฐฯ และเจ้าของร้านอาหารไทยที่ได้รับตราสัญลักษณ์ Thai SELECT ในโอกาสเยือนนครชิคาโกเพื่อร่วมงานประกาศผลรางวัล James Beard Awards 2024 ณ นครชิคาโก โดยเชฟ Arnold เป็นหนึ่งในผู้ที่ได้รับการเสนอชื่อรับรางวัลสุดยอดเชฟในเขตตะวันออกตอนใต้จากสถาบันฯ

ในระหว่างการประชุมได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นระหว่างกันเพื่อสนับสนุนและยกระดับอุตสาหกรรมร้านอาหารไทยในสหรัฐฯ รวมถึงประชาสัมพันธ์ตราสัญลักษณ์ Thai SELECT ให้เป็นที่รู้จักมากขึ้นในกลุ่มผู้บริโภคชาวอเมริกัน โดยเชฟ Arnold เป็นผู้ที่มีความหลงไหลในการปรุงและให้ความรู้ด้านอาหารไทยแท้แก่ชาวอเมริกัน จึงน่าจะเป็นกำลังสำคัญในการสนับสนุนรัฐบาลไทยในการผลักดันอุตสาหกรรมอาหารไทยซึ่งเป็นซอฟท์พาวเวอร์แขนงสำคัญของไทยในตลาดสหรัฐฯ ในอนาคต

Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, Consul-General, and Mrs. Suprattana Gamolvej, Director of Thai Trade Center Chicago, welcomed Chef Arnold Myint, a renowned Thai SELECT chef, TV personality, culinary instructor, and restaurant owner, on the occasion of visiting Chicago to attend the James Beard Awards 2024, where he was nominated the Best Chef: Southeast by the institute.

At the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on raising the bar for the Thai restaurant industry in the U.S. and promoting the Thai SELECT seal among American consumers. Personally, Chef Arnold is very passionate about authentic Thai cooking. He could be a great help for the Thai government to promote Thai cuisine, which is one of the most important Thai soft power industries in the U.S.
